Charleston attorney Howard Taylor prevailed for his client, who was injured in an automobile accident and recovered more than $1 million dollars. Using an umbrella policy to recover damages beyond an initial pre-suit settlement, Howard Taylor added his client’s common-law wife to the case by including her claim for loss of consortium.
The client, who served as a sniper in the Vietnam War and later operated a construction firm, discovered that he had a benign thoracic spine tumor, which had to be surgically removed. Before the accident, that tumor had been completely asymptomatic. A team of experts including a life care planner, a vocational consultant, and an economist helped Howard make the significant recovery.
