A Charleston native, Howard began his educational journey at Charleston Day School and Woodberry Forest School in Virginia. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2001 before pursuing his Juris Doctor at the University of South Carolina School of Law, graduating in 2007.

Before beginning his legal career, Howard spent two years serving in the United States Peace Corps in El Salvador. This transformative experience instilled in him a deep respect for resilience and a commitment to advocating for others—principles that continue to shape his work as an attorney.

Howard is an active member of the South Carolina Bar and the Charleston Bar Association, and he is proud to contribute to organizations like the South Carolina Association for Justice and the American Association for Justice. Office Manager

Geri is the Office Manager and paralegal for J. Van Wyck Taylor.  She has been with the firm for over 30 years! Prior to that, she worked in administration for The Army & AirForce Exchange Service at Grissom AFB, in Peru, Indiana. Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Geri’s favorite things to do is spend time with and spoiling her grandchildren and her two beagles, Sandy & Bella.

Maria has been with the Taylor & Taylor Law Firm for four years.  She is a South Carolina native, and enjoys spending time with her family and watching crime documentaries.  She has an Associates degree in Paralegal Studies and over eight years of experience working in law firms.

Lauren Miller

Originally from Lima, Peru, Lauren moved to Charleston, SC, in 2017 and joined the firm in the fall of 2023. Lauren has quickly integrated as part of the team, drawing on her strong organizational abilities, adaptability, and attention to detail to support both the attorney and clients. She particularly enjoys connecting with clients during intake, ensuring they feel heard and supported from the very beginning. Outside the office, Lauren loves spending time with her cat and finding new ways to grow personally and professionally.
